A VA executes the tasks you hand them. An Operations Business Manager owns an entire area of how your business runs, the systems, the workflows, and the team, and takes responsibility for the outcome. With us you get both. Edward owns the operations side as your OBM, and a systems specialist builds and runs the engine underneath. You direct, we manage.
It tends to fit established coaches and consultants who are scaling, already have a VA or small team, and are starting to spend more time running the business than coaching in it. If you are still doing everything solo and just need a few tasks off your plate, a single VA is a better first step than we are.
For ongoing work, no. Our retainer is tied to the operational area we take ownership of, not the hours we spend on it, so you are paying for a domain that runs without you rather than a timesheet. The one exception is the trial, which is a fixed 30-hour block, so you can test the work before committing to anything ongoing.
We usually begin with a 30-hour trial. You put us to work on a defined piece of your operations, and within those hours you see exactly how we run things and what we take off your plate. It is the one time we work to a set number of hours. It lets both sides prove the fit before committing to an ongoing retainer, with no long-term contract to get there.
As little as possible. That is the point. You have one point of contact in Edward, and you never manage the team behind the work. We run the operations, report back, and bring you in only for the decisions that genuinely need you. We manage, you direct.
That is usually a good sign, not a problem. We work with the people you already have rather than replacing them. Our systems specialist works alongside your team in the background while Edward owns the relationship and the wider operation, so your existing setup gets tighter, not disrupted.
